Zubeen Garg last journey: Grieving fans turn up in large numbers to pay last tribute to their favourite singer
Guwahati/IBNS: Singing sensation Zubeen Garg's fans turned up in large numbers in Guwahati to bid farewell to their favourite singer, who died of drowning in Singapore last week, media reports said.
The fans walked with the vehicle carrying the mortal remains of Zubeen Garg in respect to their favourite singing icon, who sang several hit songs across languages.

Fans grieved on streets as the flower-decked ambulance moved on.
People grieved and turned emotional as the mortal remains were carried from Guwahati airport to the singer's home in Kamarkuchi village of Sonapur.
His funeral will be held with full state honours.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is closely monitoring the necessary arrangements, paid his last tribute early this morning.
The Chief Minister posted on X, "A few hours left before #BelovedZubeen begins his final journey. A short while ago, I joined his well wishers at Sarusajai Stadium to pay my tributes. The last 2 days symbolised the love he commands over people. There will never be another Zubeen."

A second autopsy of Zubeen was carried out as per the public demand.
When asked about what prompted the state government to go for a second autopsy, the Chief Minister said, "I myself am a big fan of Zubeen and personally I feel he should be above controversy. The post-mortem report in Guwahati cannot be better than Singapore because they are technically better-placed.
"So I personally did not want to encourage a second post-mortem but as a Chief Minister, I cannot go by my own emotions. I have to make a decision on the basis of mitigating circumstances. So we have decided to accept the demands."
The Chief Minister had earlier shared that the Singapore government has issued Zubeen's death certificate, which confirmed that the singer died of drowning.
The 52-year-old icon tragically passed away while swimming in the sea without a life jacket.
His sudden demise has left an irreplaceable void in the Indian music industry and in the hearts of millions of fans.
Best known for the massively popular 'Ya Ali' song from the 2006 film Gangster, Zubeen sang in 20 languages including Assamese, Hindi and Bengali.
Sung for several other Hindi films like Fiza, Kaante, Dil Tu Hi Bataa, Chup Chup Ke, and more.
Though Bollywood gave him recognition, he continued to focus on Assamese music as his primary passion.
