Basil: The Furniture Store by socialite Nina Saxer and owner Prakash Mehrotra was inaugurated on Friday (April 22, 2016) in south Kolkata's Lake Avenue. The store showcases what it called an eclectic collection of lifestyle furniture Present on the occasion was arts personality Sujoy Prasad Chatterji. Basil: The Furniture Store is owner Prakash Mehrortra’s second store in nine years, his first one being at Alipore. Basil at Lake Road is more Victorian in its sensibilities and Colonial in its architecture.
