On June 1 at Kolkata's Taj Bengal hotel, Italy celebrated its National Day (June 2) with a reception, to commemorate the historic post-Second World War day (June 2, 1946) when the country voted for a Republic. Consul General of Italy in Kolkata, Riccardo Dalla Costa, led the celebration along with the consulate staff, city diplomats and cultural personalities. IAS Santanu Basu was the chief guest.
