Mumbai, Nov 1 (IBNS): Former Miss World and Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has been entertaining the audience for several years now, turned 45 on Thursday.

Aishwarya became the Miss World in 1994.

After winning the Miss World pageant, Aishwarya made her acting debut with Mani Ratnam's 1997 Tamil film Iruvar. In the same year, the actress made her Bollywood debut with film Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya.

One of her most successful films was Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, which was released in 1999. In Mohabbatein, which released in 2000, Aishwarya had caught the limelight once again.

Three years later, she was a part of another successful film Devdas, which is based on Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay's novel with the same name.

Her film Dhoom 2, which released in 2006, was a major success in her career. Dhoom 2 starred Hrithik Roshan in one of the lead roles. She paired with Hrithik in historical Hindi film Jodhaa Akbar, which released in 2008.

Married to actor Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya took a break from films for her daughter Aaradhya. She returned to silver screens in 2015 with Sanjay Gupta's Jazbaa.

In an interesting role, Aishwarya was seen romancing actor Ranbir Kapoor in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which released in 2016.

The actress was last seen in Fanney Khan, which failed to impress the audience.

On the occasion of her birthday, Abhishek took to social media to share a beautiful quote.

Sharing an image with his wife, the actor said: "Happy Birthday Wife.  I love you! ❤️ #MyHappyPlace"
