Chitra Vakil Sharma: OTT has made it more accessible for people to achieve their dreams

Mumbai: Producer Chitra Vakil Sharma, known for her web series Tandoor, says that OTT has changed a lot for artists as well as other members of the fraternity.

“OTT is an all-artist platform. Not all actors are great artists and not all great artists are known actors,” she says, adding, “It has become more accessible for people to achieve their dreams now. OTT has created many opportunities for not just the artists but also the producers, directors, and the army that is needed to make a show.”

She adds, “OTT has given all kinds of genres a platform. It is indeed going to be the evolution of the content that will reach people.”

However, she adds that the content on OTT needs to be filtered at one point. “I think it's really necessary for people to know the reality, but if the reality is such that it may cause harm to the viewers, then it could be filtered, but not to the extent that it changes the story and the authenticity of the reality portrayed,” she says.

Meanwhile, the producer adds that the newer crop of actors is more open to experimenting. “I’d like to address the younger ones as the fresh ones as they bring a lot of newness to the table and are different from the seasoned actors as they are open to new experiments that the producer, writer, or the director envisioned,” she says.
