Mumbai, Dec 19 (IBNS): Actress Deepika Padukone's first film with director Meghna Gulzar has finally got a title.

The film's title is Chhapaak.

In the film, Deepika will play the real life character of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.

Meghna has roped in popular television actor Vikrant Massey to cast him opposite Deepika.

Vikrant also featured in Hindi films like Lootera and Dil Dhadakne Do.

Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted to say, "IT'S OFFICIAL... Deepika Padukone and Meghna Gulzar join hands... Their first film together is titled #Chhapaak... Based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal... Vikrant Massey has been signed to enact the lead opposite Deepika."

Deepika was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial Padmaavat, which released early this year.

Meghna's Raazi, which was one of the standout films this year, starred actress Alia Bhatt in the lead role. Alia had played the character of a Indian spy who gets married to a Pakistani man.
