Deepika Padukone's Padmaavat mints Rs. 225 crores till Tuesday

Mumbai, Feb 7 (IBNS): Deepika Padukone's latest released movie Padmaavat has earned Rs. 225 crores at the Box Office till Tuesday.

Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted: " #Padmaavat is SUPER-STRONG... [Week 2] Fri 10 cr, Sat 16 cr, Sun 20 cr, Mon 7 cr, Tue 6 cr. Total: ₹ 225.50 cr. India biz."

The movie is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

It is the first major release of the year.

Deepika is playing the role of of Padmavati.

The movie also featured actors Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.

Amid protests over its release by several fringe groups, the movie was not screened in several Indian states during the time of its release on Jan 25.

The movie was earlier scheduled to release on Dec 1.
