Mumbai, Sept 18 (IBNS): The cast of 'Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami', an upcoming film starring Anupam Kher, Neha Dhupia, Divyendu Sharma, Aditi Sharma and Manu Rishi, was recently invited by the respected cartoonist R. K. Laxman to his house in the city after they launched the film's first song 'Tod De Kataar' in an uncommon way at the Worli sea face.

The cast launched the first song of the film, rebelliously titled ‘Tod De Kataar’, and went on to felicitate the statue of Laxman’s famous ‘Common Man along with some common citizens for their valuable contributions to society. The film, much like R. K. Laxman’s daily comic strip ‘You Said It’, is a political parody on the life of an honest common man at the mercy of a corrupt political system.

Eminent political cartoonist and creator of the ‘Common Man’, R. K. Laxman was touched by the honour bestowed upon his creation. He invited the cast over to his house, where they interacted with the celebrated artist and presented him with a souvenir from ‘Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami’.

Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami is an upcoming comedy/satire produced by Abhinav & Anurradha Shukla directed by Ravindra Gautam under the banner of Nautanki Films. Starring Divyendu Sharma as the male protagonist and Anupam Kher and Neha Dhupia in supporting roles, it is a tale of a son's struggle to bring back the honour that his father was unfairly ripped off. ‘Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami'  is set to release all across the nation on October 10, 2014.
