'Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami' strikes a chord with audiences
Having opened to full houses on Oct 10, the film has reportedly done very good business on its first weekend.
‘Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami’ is the story of a common man’s fight for his rightful honour. Anupam Kher plays a government servant, who has led an absolutely honest life, but is faced with a lawsuit that discredits all the values he has stood by throughout his life.
Unable to withstand the insult inflicted by the unfair lawsuit, he dies of a heart attack just after telling his sons that he wants to be honoured with a 21 gun salute.
The film is a satirical take on Indian politics and its dirty underbelly.
Despite releasing on the same day as three other films, ‘Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami’ has done exceptionally well at the box office.
According to the editor of Box Office Capsule, India’s top Box Office portal, “Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami saw a jump over the weekend because of the rave reviews and great word of mouth. The film performed better than all other new Hindi releases on the weekend. The film should be able to sustain well over the coming week.”
‘Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami’ is produced by Anurradha Prasad & Abhinav Shukla directed by Ravindra Gautam under the banner Nautanki Films in association with Shikhar Films.
The film is co-presented by Nautanki Films & Jayantilal Gada (PEN).
Starring Divyendu Sharma as the male protagonist and Anupam Kher and Neha Dhupia in supporting roles, it is a tale of a son's struggle to bring back the honour that his father was unfairly ripped off.
‘Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami’ has released all across the nation on Oct 10.
