Mumbai, Jan 7 (IBNS): Makers of upcoming Bollywood movie based on the life of Narendra Modi has released the first poster of the film and it is showcasing Vivek Oberoi in the avatar of the Indian PM.

The similarity between Modi and the reel life PM is quite stunning, as per the poster released on Monday.

The biopic is titled 'PM Narendra Modi'.

Directed by Omung Kumar, the first look poster of the film was launched in 23 languages by Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.

The movie is produced by Suresh Oberoi and Sandip S Singh.

Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted: "Vivek Anand Oberoi [Vivek Oberoi] to star in Narendra Modi biopic, titled #PMNarendraModi... The first look poster was launched in 23 languages by Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis... Directed by Omung Kumar... Produced by Suresh Oberoi and Sandip Ssingh."

Another movie on a Prime Minister will release soon:

News about Modi's biopic emerged at a time when the country is gearing up for the release of a movie based on ex-Prime Minister Manmohan Singh titled The Accidental Prime Minister.

Actor Anupam Kher essayed the role of Singh in the film.

From nuclear deal to scams which had unnerved the Congress government, The Accidental Prime Minister touched all of them.

The trailer of the film has evoked anger from the Congress which had alleged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), to which Kher is known to be close, is trying to malign the party ahead of the 2019 General Elections.

However, Kher said he won't back off as this film gave him his career-best performance.

Omung and his love for biopics:

Omung Kumar has worked in several biopics in the past.

Sarbjit:  Sarbjit was a 2016 Indian biographical drama. The film featured Aishwarya Rai as Dalbir Kaur and Randeep Hooda portrayed the title role Sarabjit Singh, an Indian man who was sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 1991 and who consequently spent 22 years in prison for alleged terrorism and spying while Richa Chadda and Darshan Kumar play supporting roles.

Mary Kom: Mary Kom was a 2014 Indian biographical sports film directed by Omung Kumar and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in association with Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. The film starred Priyanka Chopra in the lead role of the eponymous boxer, with Darshan Kumar and Sunil Thapa in supporting roles of her husband and mentor, respectively. Mary Kom depicted Kom's journey of becoming a boxer to her victory at the 2008 World Boxing Championships in Ningbo.
