Ghun Gaon – Chapter 1: Secrets, betrayal and revenge collide in this dark Bengali thriller
Kolkata/IBNS: What happens when a seemingly peaceful village becomes a maze of secrets, deception and revenge? The mystery deepened around Ghun Gaon – Chapter 1 as the film's cast and crew unveiled cryptic clues about its dark world at a specially curated event on Tuesday, offering glimpses into a thriller where nothing is quite as it seems.
Ghun Gaon – Chapter 1 explores a seemingly quiet village where buried truths, deception and fractured relationships gradually begin to surface.
As the story unfolds, familiar surroundings take an unpredictable turn, with every character carrying secrets of their own.

Director Soumya Roy Choudhury said, "Ghun Gaon is a story where nothing is quite what it appears to be. Every character carries something they reveal and something they deliberately hide."
"The wooden canvas reflects that the audience can see the clues, but understanding what they truly mean is another story. I believe Bengali audiences will experience a dark thriller of this kind for the first time," Choudhury added.
The film's dark and atmospheric world is further complemented by music composed by Tunai Debasish Ganguly, featuring voices including Sunidhi Chauhan, Timir Biswas, Sayantani Ghosh and Srishti Rawani, with lyrics penned by Pramit Ghosh.
More than a promotional event, Ranojoy Bishhnu, Sankar Debnath, Rohini Chatterjee and Soumya Majumdar, along with the director and other members of the cast and crew, came together to add different fragments of the narrative to the canvas.
It became an extension of the film's storytelling, allowing the cast to reveal fragments while keeping the larger picture hidden.

Actor Ranojoy Bishhnu said, "The vision and the content in this film, I don't know if it has been done in India or not. Our director has literally struggled to work on this content. When I first heard the story, I was not sure if it could be executed properly. But when I heard the whole script, the way he narrated it to me, I was convinced."
"I can vouch for this film, because a genre like this has not been done before. I really love to work with new and independent directors because they bring me stories which actually satisfy my creative interests", Bishhnu added.
Ghun Gaon – Chapter 1 is set for its theatrical release on September 11.
