Hercules earns Rs. 21.49 cr in India

Mumbai, Aug 5 (IBNS): Actor Dwayne Johnson's action packed film 'Hercules' has earned a massive Rs.21.49 cr gross in its opening weekend at the the Box Office in India.

The film has also earned the 4th spot for the  biggest opening weekend for a Hollywood film of 2014 easily beating films like 300: The rise of an Empire, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Godzilla 3D and Captain America: The Winter Soldier that were also released early this year.

The film had hit the theatres in India on Aug 1.

The movie is based on the graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars. Produced by Paramount Pictures and MGM, the movie is directed by Brett Ratner.

The film also stars Ian McShane, Reece Ritchie, Ingrid Bolso Berdal, Joseph Fiennes, and John Hurt. The film has been released in India by Viacom18 Motion Pictures.

Transformers: The Age of Extinction that released last month and Hercules are both presented by Paramount Pictures India placing them at the 2nd and 4th position in the list of biggest Hollywood films of 2014 with its record breaking earnings.
