Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan: Makers open up about no romantic angle between Ananya, Siddhant, Adarsh

Mumbai/IBNS: Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav starrer Netflix film 'Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan' has created quite a buzz on social media with its take on the present generation amid the rise of social media.

The story revolves around three friends- Ahana (Ananya Panday), Imaad (Siddhant Chaturvedi) and Neil (Adarsh Gourav)- who have been together since their schooling days.

Quite contrary to the popular notion, director Arjun Varain Singh kept their friendship devoid of any kind of romantic or sexual angle.

Opening up on it, Arjun told Humans of Cinema, "That was never a part of the plan. It just needed to be natural and it seemed fun.

"We often see three boys but it’s nice to have a girl who is a part of the gang. That's how it is in the real life as well."

Apart from Arjun, the film is co-written by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti.

Supporting Arjun's comment, Zoya says, "We all have that in our lives. We have friends who have been friends, and have remained friends. It has never crossed over to anything else and has stayed true to that. But it doesn’t get reflected somehow."

The plot shows the three lead characters, who belong to the GenZ, are battling several struggles in their lives. Ahana faces relationship issues, Neil battles career struggles and Imaad addiction to dating apps following his childhood trauma.

In each of their individual journeys, topics like overuse of social media, online trolling, struggles of an influencer's life have been dealt with.
