Kolkata/IBNS: An English short film titled Upside Down, with a run time of nearly three minutes, has sent out a positive, strong social and philosophical message about life at a time people are locked down in their houses amid the Covid-19 crisis.

The film, which has been directed by Ritwik Mukherjee and Avijit Deb Roy, gives a message that when things look upside down or topsy turvy, that does not necessarily mean that it's end of the road.

Drawing a comparison between the film's title and pregnancy, the director tried to imply that the "upside down" position of a baby inside its mother's womb signifies a new life in waiting just as billions of people are looking for a reboot of the world.

The film was made and edited completely on mobile camera during the period of lockdown and with friends from different walks of life, who never acted earlier.

Upside Down has a cast which includes Anindita Neogy Anaam. Chaitali Sengupta. Aditya Narayan Banerjee, Dr Rudrarup Gupta, Samrat Roy, Subhojit Roy and Ritwik Mukherjee.

The story and the script of the short film was written by Ritwik Mukherjee while Avijit Deb Roy is credited for screenplay and editing.
