Mumbai/IBNS: Drishyam 3 continued its dream run at the box office as the Mohanlal-starrer grossed Rs 141 crore worldwide, shattering several previous records, Sacnilk reported.

Second biggest opening weekend for a Malayalam film

The film has reportedly registered the second-biggest opening weekend in Malayalam cinema after also delivering the second-biggest opening day for a Malayalam film.

Released on May 21, Drishyam 3 earned Rs 54.55 crore at the domestic box office and another Rs 78 crore overseas within just four days.

Massive overseas response boosts collections

A significant chunk of the film’s earnings came from international markets, underlining the massive global fanbase of Mohanlal and the enduring popularity of the Drishyam franchise.

The thriller franchise remains one of the most successful and critically acclaimed film series in Indian cinema.

Mohanlal Returns As Georgekutty

Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the film sees Mohanlal reprise his iconic role of Georgekutty.

The cast also features Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Asha Sharath, Siddique, Murali Gopy and KB Ganesh Kumar.

A Landmark Malayalam Franchise

The Drishyam franchise remains one of Malayalam cinema’s most influential and celebrated series.

The original Drishyam (2013) redefined thriller storytelling in Indian cinema, while Drishyam 2 (2021) carried forward the gripping narrative successfully, building massive anticipation for the third installment.
