Moon Moon Sen, Riya Sen grace exhibition honouring Suchitra Sen on film legend's 94th birth anniversary
Kolkata/IBNS: Bengali film veteran Moon Moon Sen and her actress daughter Riya Sen graced an exhibition to honour late acting legend Suchitra Sen on her 94th birthday anniversary in Kolkata earlier this month.
The exhibition- dubbed as 'Suchitra'- was held at the Abanindranath Tagore Gallery, Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
Curated over the span of many years by Sudipta Chanda, this exhibition features original posters of films that featured Suchitra Sen, as well as her photo booklet, songbook, and ads, magazine covers, and film stills.
Born on April 6, 1931, in Pabna, Bangladesh, Suchitra Sen is often hailed as the 'Mahanayika' (great actress) of Bengali cinema, captivating audiences with her unparalleled talent and timeless performances.

Her films continue to inspire generations of cinephiles and remain etched in the annals of Indian cinema history.
Suchitra Sen was awarded the Padma Shri by the Indian Government in 1972.
She was offered the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2005, India's highest state honor in the film industry. But she went to Delhi to hide from the public eye and expressed her inability to accept the honour.
Sen won the Best Actress Award at the Moscow International Film Festival in 1963 for her performance in the film 'Saat Paake Bandha'.
In 2012, she was awarded the Bengali Bhushan Award by the West Bengal government.
The exhibition was held till April 12.
