Mumbai, Oct 6 (IBNS):  Bollywood actor Nana Patekar on Saturday called the claims of sexually harassing actress Tanushree Dutta ten years ago during a film's shooting as lies. adding that he had answered the question on the issue a decade ago.

"Ten years ago I have answered this. Now, what is a lie is a lie." he told media persons who mobbed him at the airport in Mumbai when he was returning from the shooting of Housefull 4" in Rajasthan.

The allegations of mistreating Dutta dates back to the shooting of a 2008 film, 'Horn OK Pleassss'.

Nana's lawyer Rajendra Shirodhkar on Monday (Oct 1) said a legal notice has been sent to actress Tanushree Dutta for accusing his client of sexually harassing her.

Shirodhkar was quoted by Hindustan Times as saying, "A legal notice has already been sent to her and she will receive it today. The notice
that I have sent is a standard one — denying allegations and asking for an apology."

Tanushree has recently alleged that Patekar misbehaved with her on the sets of Horn Ok Pleassss. The actress said Patekar's reputation of sexual misconduct is well known in the Hindi film industry.

"Everyone knows about Nana Patekar that he has always been disrespectful towards women. People in the industry know about this and that he has beaten actresses, he has molested them, his behaviour with women has always been crude but no publication has printed anything about it," the 34-year actress told Zoom.

Dutta said the incident of misbehavior occurred during the shooting of the Bollywood movie in 2008.

The actress said she was supposed to perform a special dance number in the movie.

The actress told News 18 that Patekar made her uncomfortable to the extent that she eventually had to opt out of the song.

Journalist Janice Sequeira stated she was present at the time the alleged incident had taken place.

She tweeted saying, "Some incidents that take place even a decade ago remain fresh in your memory. What happened with #TanushreeDutta on the sets of “Horn Ok Please” is one such incident - I was there.#NanaPatekar"

Following her allegation against Patekar, several actors- Priyanka Chopra, Swara Bhasker, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Twinkle Khanna, Farhan
Akhtar- came out in support of Tanushree.
