Mumbai, Oct 1 (IBNS): Actor Nana Patekar's lawyer Rajendra Shirodhkar on Monday said a legal notice has been sent to actress Tanushree Dutta for accusing his client of sexually harassing the latter, media reports said.

Shirodhkar said the allegations against Patekar are false.

Shirodhkar has been quoted by Hindustan Times as saying, "A legal notice has already been sent to her and she will receive it today. The notice that I have sent is a standard one — denying allegations and asking for an apology."

"I can’t say much now. I have absolutely no idea why she (Tanushree) is talking about it now but she may be have some reasons to do it. Nana will come to town (Mumbai) today or tomorrow and address a press conference. Let him come back and talk, that is the best way to know. Tomorrow he should be definitely here."

Tanushree has recently alleged that Patekar misbehaved with her on the sets of 2008 movie Horn Ok Pleassss.

The Indian actress said Patekar's reputation of sexual misconduct is well known in the Hindi film industry.

"Everyone knows about Nana Patekar that he has always been disrespectful towards women. People in the industry know about this and that he has beaten actresses, he has molested them, his behaviour with women has always been crude but no publication has printed anything about it," the 34-year actress told Zoom.

Dutta said the incident of misbehavior occurred during the shooting of the Bollywood movie in 2008.

The actress said she was supposed to perform a special dance number for in the movie.

The actress told News 18 that Patekar made her uncomfortable to the extent that she eventually had to opt out of doing the song.

Journalist Janice Sequeira stated she was present at the time the alleged incident had taken place.

She tweeted saying, "Some incidents that take place even a decade ago remain fresh in your memory. What happened with #TanushreeDutta on the sets of “Horn Ok Please” is one such incident - I was there. #NanaPatekar"

Following her allegation against Patekar, several actors- Priyanka Chopra, Swara Bhasker, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Twinkle Khanna, Farhan Akhtar- came out in support of Tanushree.
