Party chaos! Inside the night Dharmendra reportedly slapped Sanjay Khan — what really happened

Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood legend Dharmendra's family has strongly reacted to the death rumours that kept floating on news articles and social media after the veteran was hospitalised.

After some Facebook page, multiple media reports on Tuesday morning claimed the 89-year-old was no more only to have his daughter Esha Deol coming out with a clarification.

Later, Dharmendra's wife, actress-MP Hema Malini, blasted the media for peddling fake news about Dharmendra's death.

Hema Malini wrote on X, "What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy."

After several reports claimed Dharmendra passed away, his daughter Esha Deol confirmed that her father was stable and recovering.

"The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for papa's speedy recovery," she posted on Instagram.

While countless fans are praying for Dharmendra's recovery, some may even recount how the veteran was respectful to all his colleagues.

Dharmendra, who is known for his candidness, had once even gone to the extent of slapping actor Sanjay Khan for showing disrespect to his colleagues.

While filming Haqeeqat in 1965, Dharmendra had thrown a party at his place for the film's cast and crew.

At the party, Sanjay was drunk and started speaking ill about actors of the industry, The Times of India reported.

Initially, Dharmendra tolerated it and tried to control Sanjay Khan with love but lost his cool when the actor foul-mouthed actor Om Prakash.

Dharmendra slapped Sanjay Khan when the latter spoke ill about Om Prakash with whom the former worked in Chupke Chupke.

Later, Dharmendra felt sad about the incident and went to Sanjay Khan's brother Feroze Khan to apologise.

But Foroze Khan backed Dharmendra and said he would have acted the same way if he was in the latter's position.
