Mumbai/IBNS: The character poster of actor R Badree, who will play former Indian cricketer Sunil Valson in upcoming Hindi film '83, was released by the makers on Thursday.

Director Kabir Khan's '83 is a biopic on World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev who had lifted the prestigious trophy for the first time for India in 1983.

Though Valson was selected for the 1983 World Cup, he didn't play a single match for India in the big tournament.

Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted the poster saying, "#RBadree as #SunilValson... Character poster of #83TheFilm... Directed by Kabir Khan... 10 April 2020 release. #ThisIs83"

Actor Ranveer Singh, who has wondered his fans by playing several diverse roles, will portray Kapil Dev in the film. Singh's wife and Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone will portray the role of Kapil Dev's wife in the big screens.

Khan's film is slated to release on Apr 10.
