Sandip Ssingh to complete 'dream' film featuring Sushant Singh Rajput
Mumbai/IBNS: Filmmaker Sandip Ssingh has announced that he will complete the film titled 'Vande Bharatam' featuring Sushant Singh Rajput in memory of the late actor.
'Vande Bharatam' will mark the directorial debut of Ssingh, who had earlier produced films like 'Aligarh', 'Sarabjit', 'Bhoomi' and 'PM Narendra Modi' among others.
Sharing an emotional post on Instagram, Ssingh wrote: "You promised me that my directorial debut will be with you. Raaj Shaandilyaa wrote this and we were to produce this together. I need your belief, that faith you showed, that was my strength."
He further wrote that with Sushant gone, he feels 'lost.'
" Now, with you gone...I'm lost...but I promise you this my brother. Now tell me how do I fulfil this dream? Who will hold my hand like you did? Who will give me the power of SSR, my brother?"
The producer-turned-director said that he will make sure the film is completed and that will be a tribute to the late actor.
"I promise you this... I will make this film! And it will be a tribute to the loving memory of SSR who inspired millions and gave them hope that anything is possible! Just dream it and believe it!"
Sharing the poster of the film, he penned: "Those hours of discussions on this film we dreamed to make together...the film 'Vande Bharatam'...now all I am left with is your memories and this poster which was our dream starting to come true, this film my brother, will be the symbol of the undying light of your soul."
Sushant committed suicide at his flat in Mumbai's Bandra on June 14.
According to reports, he was suffering from depression for the past several months.
His death has brought to fore the long-standing debate on 'nepotism' where social media users, as well as some famous personalities like Kangana Ranaut are targeting the film fraternity including celebrities like filmmaker Karan Johar and actress Alia Bhatt for favouring those having Bollyoowd lineage.
