Spider-Man: Brand New Day crosses Rs 300 crore in India, breaks Avengers: Endgame's opening weekend record
Mumbai/IBNS: Spider-Man: Brand New Day has registered a sensational opening weekend at the Indian box office, grossing over Rs. 300 crore within just four days of its release on July 30, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
The Tom Holland-starrer continued its dream run on Sunday, adding Rs. 77.75 crore to take its India net collection to Rs. 256.20 crore.
Its gross collection has reached Rs. 306.37 crore, reflecting strong and sustained audience interest across the country.
Record-breaking opening weekend
The blockbuster has become the highest-grossing Hollywood film in India during its opening weekend, surpassing the previous record held by Avengers: Endgame.
Released in 2019, Avengers: Endgame had collected Rs. 158.65 crore during its first three-day weekend.
Beats Avatar: The Way of Water
James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water, another Hollywood blockbuster, occupies the next spot with an opening weekend collection of Rs. 157.13 crore in India.
With more than Rs. 300 crore in gross collections in just four days, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has comfortably outpaced both films to set a new benchmark for Hollywood releases in the Indian market.
About the film
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the fourth solo Spider-Man film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), with Tom Holland reprising his role as Peter Parker. The film was released in India on July 30, 2026.
The story picks up after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), where Doctor Strange's spell erased Peter Parker's identity from everyone's memory, leaving him to rebuild his life from scratch.
Plot
Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have kept the main plot under wraps, but the film is expected to explore Peter Parker's fresh start as a street-level superhero after sacrificing his personal relationships to save the multiverse.
Unlike the multiverse-centric No Way Home, Brand New Day shifts the focus to Peter rebuilding his life in New York while balancing the responsibilities of being Spider-Man.

Inspired by Marvel Comics
The title Brand New Day is inspired by Marvel Comics' 2008 storyline of the same name, which marked a fresh beginning in Peter Parker's life after his marriage to Mary Jane Watson was erased from history.
While the film borrows the title and the concept of a fresh start, Marvel Studios has clarified that it is not a direct adaptation of the comic storyline. Instead, it uses the premise of Peter beginning life anew after losing his identity and personal relationships.
