Kolkata, Sept 12 (IBNS): Asiad gold medalist Swapna Barman on Wednesday revealed she was approached by director Srijit Mukherji who is interested to make a biopic on the former.

Swapna, who had won a gold medal in women's heptathlon event at the recently concluded Asian Games 2018, made the revelation at her felicitation ceremony organised by The Calcutta Sports Journalists’ Club.

She said: "Srijit Mukherji had called me up when I was in Indonesia (host nation of Asian Games 2018). I am very happy, when will that happen (smiles)?"

"He (Srijit) had asked whether I have any objection to his proposal of making the biopic. I have no objection."

Regarding her choice of actor who could portray the gold medalist onscreen, Swapna said: "I don't know who will portray me. But whoever does, it will be a tough experience for her."

Swapna, who hails from Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal, said she is also ready to act in the film.
