Support and stand by Sushant's family, fans: Salman Khan appeals to his admirers

Mumbai/IBNS:  After being bashed by social media users, superstar Salman Khan has now appealed to his fans to support the family and admirers of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

"A request to all my fans to stand with Sushant’s fans n not to go by the language n the curses used but to go with the emotion behind it. Pls support n stand by his family n fans as the loss of a loved one is extremely painful,” Salman wrote in a tweet.

This comes after Salman Khan had to face the ire of the netizens over the death of Sushant.

Sushant, who committed suicide at his flat in Mumbai's Bandra last Sunday, was reportedly suffering from depression for the past several months.

Following his death, Salman faced backlash on social media for indulging "favouritism", "nepotism" and maintaining a control in the Bollywood industry.

Twitterati slammed Salman for ruining careers of many including actor Vivek Oberoi, musicians Arijit Singh and Mithoon.

Filmmaker Abhinav Singh Kashyap too targetted the superstar and his family for allegedly sabotaging his own films besides ruining him mentally.

Joining the pot-boiling issue of "Bollywood's nepotism", Abhinav had accused Salman's actor-producer brother Arbaaz Khan and his family of "bullying" him forcing the filmmaker to walk out of Dabangg 2.

Sushant's death has brought to fore the long-standing debate on 'nepotism' where social media users, as well as some famous personalities like Kangana Ranaut are targeting the film fraternity including celebrities like filmmaker Karan Johar and actress Alia Bhatt for favouring those having Bollyoowd lineage.
