'Vicious, genocide-denier lobby of Bollywood...' Vivek Agnihotri slams Anurag Kashyap for his 'Oscar' comment on The Kashmir Files

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has lashed out at director Anurag Kashyap for hoping The Kashmir Files, which portrays the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits back in 1990s, do not make it to the Oscar nomination.

Anurag told the media that SS Rajamouli's RRR has a 99 percent chance to get nominated for the Oscars.

Later the filmmaker added he hopes The Kashmir Files do not make it to the nomination list.

"India might actually have a nomination in the final five if RRR is the film they pick. I don’t know what film anybody is going to pick. I hope not The Kashmir Files," he had said.

Hitting back at Anurag, Vivek, who has directed The Kashmir Files, tweeted, "IMPORTANT: The vicious, GENOCIDE-DENIER lobby of Bollywood has started their campaign against #TheKashmirFiles for #Oscars, under the leadership of the maker of #Dobaaraa."

Anurag along with actor Taapsee Pannu are now busy promoting their Hindi film Dobaaraa, which is slated for Aug 19 release.
