Ashish Nehra decides to quit international cricket after T20 match against NZ next month

New Delhi, Oct 11 (IBNS): Indian fast bowler Ashish Nehra has decided to quit international cricket after playing the T20 match against New Zealand at Ferozeshah Kotla here on Nov 1, media reports said.

"He (Nehra) called the entire squad and said he is calling it quits from international cricket. That caught the entire team by surprise but he requested if he could play his last game at his home ground in Delhi," a source close to the development told The Times of India.

"The team was easing him into top-flight cricket. He has not played any cricket after getting injured in the last IPL. He said he would have retired after the third match against Australia in Hyderabad. Since India play their next T20 in Delhi, Nehra prefers to play that match,"a BCCI official told the news paper.

Nehra has been serving the national side since 1999.

He was part of the ODI World Cup in 2003 and 2011.

He put up some memorable performance in both the World Cups for the national side.
