Bangladesh chase down Scot's 318

Nelson , Mar 5 (IBNS): Bangladesh made their bid to reach the quarter-finals stronger by beating Scotland by six wickets Scotland in a World Cup group stage match here on Thursday.

Scotland posted 318 runs for the loss of eight wickets and Bangladesh reached the target of 322 runs for the loss four wickets in 48.1 overs.

Tamim Iqbal (95), Shakib Al Hasan (52*), Sabbir Rahman (42*), Mahmudullah (62) and Mushfiqur Rahim (60) all delivered with their bats to reach the target.

Josh Davey took two wickets for Scotland.

Earlier , riding on Kyle Coetzer's 156 runs, Scotland had posted 318 runs on the scorecard.

Coetzer hit 17 boundaries and four sixes in the knock.

Taskin Ahmed remained the top of the Bangladeshi bowler and took three wickets for the side.

"The boys have done really well, especially the batsmen....Still our bowlers did not bowl well, but our batsmen got runs, especially with a big match coming up next," Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza said after the match.
