China beat Japan to lift Uber Cup title

New Delhi, May 24 (IBNS): China defeated Japan 3-1 to clinch the Uber Cup here on Saturday.

In the first singles clash,  World No.1 Li Xuerui  defeated Japan's  Minatsu Mitani 21-15 21-5.

China's Yixin Bao and Jinhua Tang lost the doubles battle against Misaki Matsutomo and Ayaka Takahashi 18-21 9-21 which gave Japan some chance to bounce back in the contest.

However, Chinese players knew exactly the way to defeat the opponents and  list the trophy for the 13th time.

Shixian Wang took 2-1 lead by beating Japan's Sayaka Takahashi 21-16, 21-12.

Yunlei Zhao and Xiaoli Wang did not leave the task unfinished in the second doubles game as they beat Miyuki Maeda and Reika Kakiiwa 21-13, 21-6 in a 37-minute long battle to lift the trophy.
