Jamshedpur, Apr 19 (IBNS): Bibek Sardar posted a comfortable eight stroke victory to capture the Golmuri Juniors Title, the second leg of the Tata Steel IGU East Zone Junior / Sub-Junior Tour that culminated at the Golmuri Golf Club here on Saturday.

The Kolkata lad scripted a card of 1-over 72 in the second and final round to finish with a tournament tally of 6-over 148 to triumph in the top category (A&B).

Hassan Rahman Khandokar finished second with a two-round total of 156 after shooting a 4-over card in the final round. Sharif Khan was third at 159 while Rohit Kumar Bouri was fourth at 161.

Gurshan Singh Garwwal and Manish Rajak shared the fifth place at 163. Bibek also captured the title in Category B with Hassan finishing in the bridesmaid position.

Sandeep Kumar Yadav emerged as the winner in Category C with a total of 151 while Rajib Ali was second at 163. AbhikanksBasu ended up third at 172. AravShanghavi captured the Category D honours with a tally of 170 while PranshuPoddar was the runner-up at 181.

KaushalBagrodia ended up third at 183.

Marshneil Prasad won in the Girls B Category with Chitrangadha Singh taking the Girls C Category honours. GarvLakhmani won in Category D which was played over 18 holes.

Bibek had a forgetful start making a bogey on the opening hole while making a double bogey on the par-4 fourth. He also lost a stroke on the par-4 sixth where he made a bogey.

However, he resurrected his round with back to back birdies on the eighth and ninth holes to take the turn at 2-over. On the back nine, he began with a boger-birdie bogey start on the first three holes and made two birdies in the last three holes to sign up for a 1-under back nine score.

"It was a tough day on the body, mind and on the golf course. The pin positions were challenging and the greens were playing true. I really hard to focus on my game today. I was able to release my putter smoothly and sank putts, which really helped me, said Bibek after the round. “I look forward to a repeat performance in the upcoming events," he added.
