Imran Khan attacks PM Nawaz Sharif over Pakistan cricket's 'failure'

| | Mar 28, 2016, at 02:57 pm
Lahore, Mar 28 (IBNS): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has slammed Pakistan's PM Nawaz Sharif for downfall of the country's cricket performance.

Referring to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) executive committee chairman Najam Sethi, Khan, who had guided Pakistan to World Cup victory in 1992, tweeted: "The reason cricket has, unlike elsewhere, failed to become an institution in Pak is because here PM appoints PCB Chief."

"We have a PM who has perfected the art of cronyism & appointed an 'election fixer' to 'fix' Pak cricket," he said.

Pakistan crashed out of the ongoing World T20 tournament recently.

The team failed to reach the semi-finals under the leadership of Shahid Afridi.
