KKR beat Rajasthan by seven wickets to register first away match victory

Jaipur, Apr 19 (IBNS): Skipper Dinesh Karthik hammered a six as his Kolkata Knight Riders registered their first away win when they defeated Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in their IPL group stage match here on Wednesday.

After two consecutive defeats, Shah Rukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders registered their second back to back victory to move up to the top of the points table.

Rajasthan had earlier put up a modest total of 160 runs for the loss of eight wickets.

KKR went down the park with a purpose and scored 163 runs for the loss of three wickets.

After defeating Delhi Daredevils in Kolkata, KKR continued the momentum in Jaipur and scripted another win which helped them move up the points table.

Opener Sunil Narine of KKR gave the visitors a strong start at the top of the table as he added 35 runs with his willow.

But, KKR received early blow when they lost the wicket of Chris Lynn (0) in the third ball of the first over.

Robin Uthappa (48), Rana (35*) and Karthik (42*) carried the momentum forward and helped in defeated the home side.

Earlier, Rajasthan posted 160 runs on the scorecard.

D'Arcy Short scored 44 runs with his willow.

Rana and Tom Curran picked up two wickets each for KKR.
