'Leaving Australia with disappointment but...': Virat Kohli on India's humiliating exit from T20 World Cup

India's progress in the T20 World Cup was ruthlessly stopped by England in Adelaide on Thursday after the English men clinched a mammoth 10-wicket victory in the semi final of the mega tournament.

Amid the running of high emotions among the Indians following the devastating loss, India's star batter, Virat Kohli, who is still the highest run scorer in this World Cup, came out with a constructive response.

Taking to Twitter, Kohli wrote, "We leave Australian shores short of achieving our dream and with disappointment in our hearts but we can take back a lot of memorable moments as a group and aim to get better from here on."

"Thank you to all our fans who turned up in huge numbers throughout to support us in the stadiums. Always feel proud to wear this jersey and represent our country."

What happened in semi final 2?

England openers Jos Buttler and Alex Hales ripped apart India's bowling line up to script a 10-wicket victory to advance to the T20 World Cup 2022 final, which will be played on Sunday.

The 169-run target looked too little the way Buttler and Hales started off their business helping their team to score 170 with four overs to spare.

Hales and skipper Buttler remained unbeaten at 86 off 47 balls and 80 off 49 balls respectively.

Hales made India's bowling look too weak, hammering four boundaries and seven sixes across the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide on Thursday.

Earlier, India scored 169/6 in 20 overs, thanks to Hardik Pandya who slammed 63 off 33 balls, an inning which along with Virat Kohli's 50 helped the men-in-blue to recover from a crawling start.
