Rohit Sharma slams 100, India steady on day 1 of 2nd Test against England

Chennai/IBNS: Indian opening batsman Rohit Sharma slammed a ton on the first day of the second Test match against England here on Saturday.

India have lost three wickets but are in a steady position.

Along with Sharma, India's vice captain Ajinkya Rahane is at the crease.

Earlier Cheteshwar Pujara was dismissed for 21 while Shubman Gill and skipper Virat Kohli were sent back to the change room for ducks.

The three Indian wickets were shared by Olly Stone, Jack Leach and Moeen Ali.

England are leading the series 1-0.
