Shivani Amineni defeated by Turkey's Selin Ovunc

Kolkata, Jan 19 (IBNS): India's only hope, Shivani Amineni, seeded 3 in the Girls Singles Under 18 draw went down against Turkey's Selin Ovunc without much of a fight, in the semi finals of the ongoing DKS ITF JUNIORS 2018, been held at the red clay courts of the Dakshin Kalikata Sansad.

Ovunc, seeded 2 did not have to sweat much before outclassing India's Amineni by a clean 6-1,6-3 in about 1 hr and 15 minutes. Ovunc will face Diani Khodan of Ukraine in the final tomorrow, who got the better of France's Margaux Rouvroy by a long 4-6,7-6(3),6-4 which lasted for over 2 hrs and 35 minutes.

Dream run for unseeded Mathys Erhard of France ended in the hands of Belgium's Louis Herman, seeded 8 in Boys Singles Under 18 category. Herman got the better of hard-hitting Erhard by a straight 6-2,6-4 in 1 hr and 05 minutes.

Herman will face Yassir Kilani, the top seed in the final tomorrow, who breezed past Poland's Michal Woznaik by 7-6(3),6-3.
