Kolkata/Ranchi, Sept 23 (IBNS): Sneha Halder added another feather in Bengal's cap by winning 32nd National Under-9 Chess Championship for Girls held at Digambar Jain Bhavan in Ranchi from Sept 15 to 23.

She secured 9 points out of possible 11 and won the trophy with a better Bucholz tie-break score than Suhani Lohia of Maharashtra who scored same points as of Sneha.

Despite her only loss in the 3rd round against Sreya Mekherjee of Maharashtra, she made a strong comeback in the event and defeated all top ranked players.

In the last round she split points against Indira Priyadarshini of Tamil Nadu.

Another Bengal girl Debapriya Manna finished fourth with 8.5 points.

In the Open category, Ilamparthi A R from Tamil Nadu made a clean sweep by garnering 10 points out of 11.
