Gurugram, Jun 8 (IBNS): Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli has been fined by the Gurugram Municipal Corporation for wasting drinking water by using it to clean a car in Gurugram house, media reports said.

A fine of Rs. 500 has been imposed after a domestic help of Kohli was found cleaning the car with running water from a pipe outside the skipper's house.

The civic body, which is used to go around the city to check wastage of water, took the cognizance of the matter.

Kohli is presently busy in leading the Indian team in the World Cup 2019 in England.

India will play against Australia in their second match on Sunday.
