Navy rescues Indian nationals stranded in Socotra Islands for 10 days

Porbandar/New Delhi, Jun 7 (IBNS): India's Ministry of Defence said that Indian Naval Ship Sunayana reached Porbandar harbour in Gujarat on Thursday morning after successfully evacuating 38 Indian Nationals at/ off Socotra Islands, located between the Guardafui Channel and the Arabian Sea.

New Delhi, June 3 (IBNS): In response to a distress call received from the DG shipping and the Indian Sailing Vessels Association, Indian Naval Ship Sunayna, currently deployed for a mission based deployment in the Gulf of Aden, was directed to evacuate 38 Indian nationals stranded on the Yemeni island of Socotra in the aftermath of cyclone Mekenu, officials said.
