28 IS militants killed in Afghanistan

Kabul, Feb 6 (IBNS): At least 28 Islamic State (IS) insurgents have been killed in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province in the past 24 hours, media reports said.

According to reports, 10 militants have been injured.

Sixteen IS militants were killed on Friday evening as a result of airstrikes on a car and a hideout of Daesh in the Pekhi area of Achin district, the governor’s spokesman, Ataullah Khogyani told Pajhwok Afghan News.

A dozen of other Daesh insurgents were killed and 10 others wounded on Saturday morning as a result of other operations in the Dwasari and Syed Ahmadkhel areas of Kot district, he told Afghanistan based news agency.
