Afghan forces kill nine militants in eastern province
Jalalabad, Afghanistan, Feb 19 (Xinhua/IBNS) A total of nine militants were killed and few others injured after the government forces stormed Taliban hideouts in Khogiani district of the eastern Nangarhar province on Monday, said a statement of provincial government released here on Tuesday.
The operation was launched on Monday night and lasted for a while during which a main base of the militants had also been destroyed, the statement added.
No civilian had been harmed during the operations, the statement further said.
Taliban militants have not commented.
