Afghanistan: Explosion rocks Badakhshan province, casualties feared

Faizabad, Afghanistan: An explosion rocked Faizabad, the capital of northern Afghanistan's Badakhshan province on Monday, with casualties feared, an official said.

The blast took place early on Monday next to the provincial police headquarters, the official who declined to be named said, adding that an investigation had been initiated to determine the nature of the blast and possible casualties.

This is the second blast in the war-torn Afghanistan since Sunday.

A blast hit Police District 6 of Kabul city on Sunday evening with no casualties reported.
