Afghanistan: Journalist, three other civilians killed in explosion

Kabul, Sept 25 (IBNS): An explosion hit Kandahar province of Afghanistan and killed at least four people which included a journalist, media reports said on Wednesday.

Nasrat Rahimi, a spokesman for the Ministry of Interior told Khaama Press a bomb planted by Taliban militants went off at around 8:00 pm on Tuesday night in 4th district of Kandahar city. 

Rahimi further told the news agency that the explosion killed 4 civilians including a child and Abdul Hamid Hotaki, a journalist of Heewad Radio. 

The blast reportedly left six people hurt.

The explosion reportedly took place close to the election campaign office of President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.

The Taliban did not comment on the issue so far.
