Kabul, May 17 (IBNS): Security forces have arrested a key group member of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group during their operation in Afghanistan's northern Baghlan province, media reports said on Friday.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) in a statement said Thursday that the ISIS group member was arrested during an operation which was conducted by the Special Forces of the Afghan National Police in Baghlan Markazi district, reported Khaama Press.

During the operation, an Ak-47 assault rifle, 9 mobile phones and laptop computer were also recovered, reports said.

The military sources had earlier reported to the news agency that 4 Taliban militants were killed and 5 others were wounded in an operation of the Afghan Special Forces in the same district.
