After Paris attack, Brussels under high terror alert
Brussels, Nov 21 (IBNS): Belgium's capital Brussels has been declared high on alert on Saturday as the government warned of a threat that would be a repeat of Paris-style attacks, reports said.
Following the threat, subways in Brussels have been closed. Heavily armed police and soldiers have also been deployed.
The fear was that "several individuals with arms and explosives could launch an attack... perhaps even in several places," BBC quoted Belgian PM Charles Michel as saying.
According to reports, at least one suspect from the deadly Paris attacks was seen crossing into Belgium.
The Brussels metro will remain closed till Sunday and people have been told to avoid crowds.
"These include shopping centres and concerts, and the authorities have also recommended that large events, including football matches, be cancelled," BBC quoted an official statement as saying.
This comes after the deadly terror attacks in Paris that killed 129 people.
