At least 16 IS militants killed in government airstrikes in Afghanistan

Kabul, July 28 (IBNS): At least 16 Islamic State (Daesh) militants were gunned down during airstrikes conducted by the national army in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province, the defence ministry said on Saturday.

It said that five other suspects were nabbed.

The statement added that strikes were conducted in Deh Bala, Achin, Nazian and Chaparhar districts of Nangarhar province.

Meanwhile, the release aid that at least 12 pan-nation strikes were conducted by the country's army.

It took place in Nangarhar, Kunar, Kapisa, Ghazni, Paktia, Paktika, Urozgan, Ghor, Faryab, Balkh, Kunduz and Helmand provinces.
