At least 20 killed in Bangladesh landslides

Dhaka, June 13 (IBNS) : At least 20 people were killed in separate incidents of landslide in three hilly southern Bangladesh districts on Tuesday.

According to a report of 'Prothom Alo', a leading daily of Bangladesh, the landslides struck different  areas of Rangamati and Bandarban districts.

At least 27 have been injured in the incidents. Many others are missing.

Identities of  the victims  could not be known immediately.

According to a report of BDNews24.com, at least  eleven people were killed in Rangamati’s Kaptai and Kawkhali Upazilas after landslides.

They were declared dead after being brought  to the hospital.
Rangamati experienced heavy rainfall from late on Sunday night until 11 am on Tuesday morning.

In Bandarban, at least seven people, including three minors, were also killed in separate landslides in Kalaghata and Lemujiri areas early Tuesday.

At least two people were killed in Chittagong district.
