At least a dozen lawyers killed, 50 injured in suicide attack on Pakistan court

Mardan, Pakistan, Sept 2 (IBNS) : At least 12 people-all lawyers- were killed and about 50 injured after a suicide bomber attacked a district court at Mardan, in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa district on Friday, reports said.

The place is some 40 km from Peshwar.

The bomber hurled hand grenades before detonating a suicide vest when the court was buzzing with morning crowds.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, carried out  three weeks after a massive suicide blast wiped out almost a generation of local legal practitioners, killing  scores of people in the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta in Balochistan.

Earlier on Friday, at least one civilian and four  terrorists were killed during an attack at Christian Colony near Warsak Dam on the outskirts of Peshawar.
