Bangladesh: Boy dies after flying rod from under-construction Dhaka expressway hits his head

Dhaka: A boy died after he was hit on the head by a rod that dropped   from the elevated expressway construction site in Dhaka’s Mohakhali region on Monday, media reports said.

The incident occurred in front of the British American Tobacco building in Mohakhali around 10 am on Monday, Inspector Md Bachchu Mia of the Dhaka Medical College Police Outpost told bdnews24.

The identity of the boy is still not known.

Passersby brought the injured minor to hospital for treatment.

The rod flew out from the construction site and pierced the boy’s head, according to Abdul Quader Emon, one of those who rescued the boy, told bdnews24.
