Bangladesh: Explosion rocks Dhaka building, 8 die

Dhaka: An explosion rocked a building at Siddique Bazar area in Bangladesh's capital Dhaka city which left at least eight people dead and 100 others injured on Tuesday, media reports said.

Five firefighting units rushed to the spot to bring the flames under control.

The injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Inspector Bacchu Mia of DMCH police outpost, told bdnews24.

The blast occurred at the seven-storey building which housed several stores for sanitary products.

The cause of the blast is still not known.
