Be alert: Israelis abroad asked to take extra care as Hamas calls for 'Day of Rage'

| @indiablooms | Oct 13, 2023, at 02:24 pm

The Israeli government has asked nationals, who are staying abroad, to remain alert on Friday (October 13, 2023) after Hamas group called on its supporters worldwide to participate in a “Day of Rage.”

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote: "The Hamas leadership has called on all of its supporters around the world to hold a 'Day or Rage' tomorrow and attack Israelis and Jews. It is reasonable to assume that there will be protest events in various countries that are liable to turn violent."

"Against the background of Operation Swords of Iron, the Hamas leadership has called on all of its supporters around the world to hold a 'Day or Rage' tomorrow (Friday, 13 October 2023) and attack Israelis and Jews. It is reasonable to assume that there will be protest events in various countries that are liable to turn violent," read the statement.

"Therefore, the National Security Council and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommend that Israelis abroad be alert, keep away from the demonstrations and protests and – if necessary – check with local security forces regarding possible protests and disturbances in the area," the statement said.

Israel's National Security Council and Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it will continue to act everywhere in order to safeguard the security of Israeli citizens around the world.

The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas began last week after the group's members burst through the Gaza border fence and rampaged through the south, slaughtering some 1,300 people, the vast majority of them civilians, and taking at least 100 captives to Gaza.
