Toronto, Aug 10 (IBNS): The wildfire in North Ontario is no longer considered to be out of control, media reports said.

The wildfire forced hundreds of people to flee from their homes.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry said on Thursday that Parry Sound 33 is now "being held", CTV News reported.

Parry Sound 33, which began in mid-July, forced almost 200 residents of Henvey Inlet First Nation to flee from their homes.

Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry, Jeff Yurek, called the progress in the situation as "great news".

Yurek added in saying that the ministry will continue to work as 120 more wildfire are still active.

The Ontario government reportedly allotted $100 million to fight the wildfire.
